Gerald Anderson On His Love Affair With Cars

Gerald Anderson's perseverance and hard work have enabled him to fulfill many of his dreams including collecting cars.

At age 23, the actor already has five cars in his collection, one of which is a posh white Dodge Charger RT. He purchased it years back after the success of his drama series with Kim Chiu and Jake Cuenca, "Tayong Dalawa." He even had its license plate customized to "BOK," his and Jake's nickname on the show.

"It’s a four-door sedan kasi kapag lumalabas ako kasama ko 'yung friends ko… kasya kaming lahat," he was quoted as saying in an abs-cbnNEWS.com report.

The cost of the vehicle, which he calls his "fun car," is the same as some house and lot properties: P3.2 million.

It's not surprising, then, to see how much Gerald takes care of his car, tending to it like a baby.

"Dapat lagi chine-check 'yan lalo na kapag galing sa long drive, dapat ipapa-change oil. Ang sarap din kasing alagaan ng mga kotse kasi pinaghirapan ko ang mga 'to eh," said he.

He has loved cars even as a kid, often telling his parents that he wanted to buy a car every time he would see one. His father taught him how to drive at age 14.

"'Yung family car pa namin iyon na SUV na manual pa. Buti nga na natuto ako sa manual muna kasi naging mas madali," he said.

So, does a posh car grant him additional "pogi points"?

Chuckling, Gerald said, "Okay lang. Ang sarap i-drive eh."
