Piolo Pascual is filled with mixed emotions as Dahil Sa Pagibig draws to a close this week. While he will miss working with his co-stars, he said that he’s proud because they’ve done their best to make the teleserye a success. He is also happy to know that he has given justice to his role as a priest who was forced to do what is right and fight against his own father played by Christopher de Leon.
“Sobrang hirap. Pero kung normal lang yun, inampon ako tapos pinabayaan ako, it would have been different. It was awe-inspiring because nakakadala yung acting ni Tito Boyet, yung discipline niya sa trabaho, yung passion niya, yung artistry niya,” he told Push.com.ph during their on-location shoot at Antipolo last June 27.
Piolo also commended his leading ladies Cristine Reyes and Maricar Reyes for portraying their respective characters really well. “Si Maricar, the last time I’ve worked with her was in Lovers in Paris. Makikita mo na nakakapaglaro na siya ng character, so mas masarap to do a scene with her.
On rumored romance with Cristine
But aside from Cristine’s talent in acting, Piolo couldn’t help but remark on her effortless beauty as well.
As for the previous rumors linking the two of them, Piolo maintained that there was never anything romantic going on between him and Cristine. Add to the fact that he’s also good friends with her boyfriend Rayver Cruz. “Siyempre lalabas at lalabas naman ang totoo. I think they’re still together. Rayver and I are friends so hindi naman mawawala yung asaran sa ASAP. You see them [together], yun na yun.”
On his part, Piolo admitted that he’s open to be in a relationship if given the chance. But since there’s no one special in his life right now and he’s not getting any younger, he’s determined to make the most out of his showbiz career. I am happy where I am. I am able to do a lot of things. So if it’ll be given, it’ll be given in God's time.”
Dealing with negative publicity
Despite the persistent intrigues that he gets involved in, Piolo happily said that his faith made him stronger and enabled him to move forward. “It’s part of the trade. The most important thing is having the right faith.
Asked if he harbors any resentment towards anyone, Piolo added that he’d rather have peace of mind than be affected with all sorts of negativity. “I can safely say na may peace akong natutulog ‘pag gabi.
