The independent film "Thelma" starring Maja Salvador ran away with key major awards at the Film Academy of the Philippines' (FAP) 30th Luna Awards held in Quezon City on Sunday night.
The Kapamilya actress received her second best actress trophy for her role as a runner in "Thelma," which also won her a Gawad Urian award.
"Thelma" was also cited for best direction for Paul Soriano, as well as best cinematography and best screenplay at the Luna Awards.
"Nagulat po ulit ako. Salamat po sa pagkakataon na bigyan po ulit ako ng Best Actress award," Salvador said during her acceptance speech, where she also thanked directors Paul Soriano and Lino Cayetano.
"Kung dati wala akong tiwala sa sarili ko, Direk Paul ikaw ang nagsabi sa akin na magaling ako," she said.
"Sa writer namin, maraming salamat. Sa fans ko, sa (pamilya ko) at kung bakit po ako naging artista, sa daddy ko, maraming salamat po," Salvador added.
Laguna Governor Jeorge "E.R." Ejercito took home the best actor award for the action film "Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story," which was also named best picture.
"Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa FAP at ibinigay nila sa akin ang ikatlong best actor award ko. Kulang na lang FAMAS," Ejercito told ABS-CBN News after receiving the trophy.
The best supporting actress award went to actress Lovi Poe for her performance in "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow," while John Regala took home best supporting actor honors for "Manila Kingpin."
