Her latest big screen outing marks a number of firsts for young actress Andi Eigenmann -- among them the "scary" kissing scenes.
"Even if it was hard, I knew I wanted to do it. Nakakatatakot talaga, pero go lang," Eigenmann told reporters on the sidelines of the filming for "A Secret Affair" on Thursday.
"Pero normal na mahihirapan ako dun sa pagiging mature niya, and the role is kind of daring, but that was a challenge for me that I was willing to take, and I accepted this project," she added.
In VIVA Films' "A Secret Affair," Eigenmann portrays Sam, a young woman whose love for an older man, played by Derek Ramsay, puts her at odds with her best friend, who is portrayed by actress Anne Curtis.
"Sorority sister ako ni Anne na ini-sponsor niya, so we belong to one barkada, and I'm in love with the same man that she is," said Eigenmann, whose role sees her doing a number of kissing scenes with Ramsay.
According to the 22-year-old actress, her scenes with the hunk actor have been nothing short of nerve-racking for her.
"I was so nervous po talaga when we shot all the scenes. Hindi ko po alam kung ano tama, kung ano mali," Eigenmann said, adding in jest, "Sinunod ko lang po 'yung sinabi nung direktor (Nuel Naval). Nag-toothbrush po ako."
To allay her discomfort, the "Agua Bendita" star said her newest leading man, who is 10 years her senior, "guided" her through their scenes.
"Derek's such a nice person, he's a gentleman. I know he's more experienced than I am, and he was there to guide me and help me," Eigenmann said. "He really talks to me and helps me."
She also clarified that although there will be "mature" scenes, she won't necessarily bare skin in the romance flick.
"Hindi po ako naghuhubad. You can be sexy and you can express something like that na hindi nagpapakita ng skin or hindi nagmumukhang malaswa," she said.
"I really trust Direk Nuel, he's a good director, and tasteful po 'yung aming mga ginagawa, kahit not necessarily conservative," she added.
Explaining the apparent age gap between her and Ramsay, the Kapamilya actress said her character is "meant to be way younger than Anne and Derek," who will portray a married couple in the film.
Coming off the massive success of "No Other Woman," Curtis and Ramsay's first film together, Eigenmann said she hopes "A Secret Affair" will manage to replicate the accomplishment of the record-breaking flick.
"It is such an honor. Hindi ko akalain na ganito kaaga magkakaroon ako ng movie na ganito. Si Derek and Anne belonged to a movie that really was a hit," Eigenmann said.
"I'm also hoping na it will be the same [as 'No Other Woman'], and that I can contribute to the success of the film," she added.
Released in 2011, the Ruel Bayani-directed movie was declared as the highest grossing Filipino film of all time only two weeks into its run.
With estimated earnings of P278 million, it went on to become the second highest-grossing local film in Philippine cinema after "Praybeyt Benjamin" starring comedian Vice Ganda.
Formerly titled "Nothing Compares to You," "A Secret Affair" will hit theaters nationwide on October 24.
