Miss Universe 2011 third runner-up Shamcey Supsup might tie the knot with her boyfriend, businessman Lloyd Lee, next year.
In an interview on "Kris TV" on Monday, Lee said they are likely to get married in 2013.
"Next year siguro," he told the show's host, Kris Aquino.
Lee also asked Aquino if he and Supsup could have her as one of their godmothers.
To which the actress-host replied: "Oo naman. It will be my honor and privilege. Basta give me the date para ma-block off natin."
Supsup was quick to clarify, however, that she and Lee are not yet engaged. She added that the ring that was given to her by Lee was just a promise ring.
"No. It's a promise ring. We are not yet engaged," the beauty queen said.
According to Lee, he gave Supsup the ring to prove his pure intentions and love for her.
"Promise ko kasi sa kanya. Nakuwento niya before, since nag-start kami parang sobrang advanced ng relationship namin at palagi kaming nagkakabiruan na 'mahal, ikaw na talaga.' Sabi naman ni Sham, 'gusto mo ako na talaga pero wala ka namanag proof so wala kang singsing diyan?' sabi niya. So ang ginawa ko, noong pumunta ako ng Singapore, my only time to sneak out and buy [a ring] for her, so October last year nabili at December 6 naibigay ko sa kanya," he said.
Meanwhile, Lee vowed to love Supsup for the rest of his life.
"I-che-cherish ko every single day na kasama kita hanggang pagtanda natin. Sabi kasi nila sa isang couple, hanggang five years lang ang in love na stage, after noon companionship na raw. Sabi ko, patunayan natin sa kanilang lahat na kahit 70 o 80 years old talagang hawak-hawak ko pa rin ang kamay mo," he said.
For Supsup, she said that she is thankful to God for giving her someone like Lee.
"Sabi ko sabay nating ipo-prove that true love exists. It's a commitment and even if may challenges, sometimes we have a lot of conflicts, but it's our choice to be together and to look past our differences because we truly love each other. I love you," she said.
In a previous interview, Supsup told ABS-CBNnews.com that she may have found the person she wants to be with for the rest of her life, but made it clear that she has no plans of getting married anytime soon.
“Wala pa tayong definite date for that,” the beauty queen said.
“Siguro nagiging isyu lang ‘yon because I’m that sure that this is the person I want to be with. For me kasi I’m the person who’s really serious in things, not just in my studies, not just in competitions but also in relationships. That’s how I am, that’s how I treat my relationship. Of course, it’s gonna lead to that,” she added.
