Magkakaroon ng Pinoy adaptation ang Tony award-winning musical na Nine.
Magsisimula ang regular run nito sa September 21 sa Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium ng RCBC Plaza.
Isa sa cast members nito ang singer na si Sitti na gaganap bilang "The Lady of the Spa."
Nakipagkuwentuhan si Sitti sa Hot Pinoy Showbiz noong presscon ng Nine last September 11, sa Sir Boy’s Food Republique.
Ano ba ang kaibahan ng theater sa mga regular concerts na ginagawa niya?
Tugon ni Sitti, “In terms of the music and the song, mas malaki yung emotional involvement dito sa musical theater.
“Kasi hindi puwedeng i-deliver mo lang yung songs, according to your interpretation.
“With this, the musical, theater world, you have to take into consideration what the song says, your character, at saka yung intention ng kanta.
"So all of that, you have to absorb it and imbibe it and sing it and hopefully the audience will get it.
“If you were effective, then they will get it.”
Hindi naman daw baguhan si Sitti sa ganitong klase ng proyekto dahil pangatlong salang na niya ito sa musical theater.
Lumabas na ang bossa nova singer sa Katy: The Musical noong 2008 at sa Spring Awakening noong 2009.
Banggit pa ni Sitti, “This is my second time [with Atlantis], the first was Spring Awakening also with Atlantis in 2009.
“But grabe yung emotional and physical involvement naming lahat dito… for Nine.
“Kasi for the whole of Act 1, babad kami sa stage, walang alisan.”
CHOOSY SITTI. Since romantic musical ang tema ng Nine, inusisa ng Hot Pinoy Showbiz ang magaling na singer tungkol sa kanyang lovelife.
Sagot niya, “Lovelife? Hindi ko rin alam, e. No, I dated naman pero super-wala, e.”
Choosy ba siya pagdating sa mga manliligaw niya?
“Hindi naman… ewan ko,” pagtanggi nito.
Ano ba ang ideal man niya?
“Ideal man? Siguro, someone with sense of humor.”
GENDER ISSUE. Normal nang intriga sa showbiz na kapag single ang isang tao ay pagdududahan ang kasarian nito.
Paano kung pag-isipan ng iba na tomboy siya?
“Ay naku, no, definitely not… hindi!” sabay halakhak na sagot nito.
