In an interview with Push.com.ph, Bea Alonzo shared that she has always dream of entering show business. The fact that she knew exactly what she wanted to do in life gave her enough motivation to overcome the struggles she encountered when she was just starting out as an actress. “As far as I can remember, gusto ko talaga maging mag-artista. Nanonood ako ng Ang TV noon... Yun bang parang automatic yun na ang passion ko. I feel so lucky na ganon ang naging pangyayari. I know people na college na, they graduated already but they still know don’t know what they want to do with their life.”
The good thing about Bea though is that she can hold her own in any controversies. When asked about how she keeps her cool, the 24-year-old explained that having a good support system helped her stay grounded. “I have my non-showbiz friends, my family's always there. I always believe na kung hindi mo bibigyan yung tao ng lisensya na [maapektuhan ka] hindi ka naman papakialaman e. Kung ayaw mo pagusapan, then don’t tweet [too much information]. Kung ayaw mo pagtsismisan kayo, don’t go out in a place na alam mong makikita kayo. It’s all about choices.”
Although she maintains an Instagram account where she publishes some of her kilig moments with boyfriend Zanjoe Marudo, she reiterated the importance of being responsible when using social media apps. As it is, some celebrities get in trouble because of their own carelessness. “If you want your secret to be kept a secret, be careful with the way you act around people. Sa totoo lang nasa ‘yo naman talaga yun. Kung ayaw mo ma-perceive na lasengga ka, ‘wag ka uminom in public, ganon lang naman yun. Kasi once pumasok ka sa business na ‘to, di ka pwede magreklamo na bakit mo pinapakialaman buhay ko? Dapat alam mo once you enter the business na lahat ng tao makikiaalam sa buhay mo.”
In the meantime, Bea’s really excited about A Beautiful Affair. She also clued us in about what to expect from her role as Genevieve Saavedra. “Sheltered siya at parang sumpa sa kanya yung pagiging super fortunate niya. Nasa kanya lahat pero gusto niyang gumawa ng something na siya lang makakagawa para sa buhay niya. She wants her life to have direction at hindi yung sinasabi ng mga tao kung anong direksyon yung dapat niyang tahakin. Yun yung pinagdadaanan niya.”
