Marian Rivera is undoubtedly one of the most curvaceous celebrities in local show business; so when The Manila Times heard that the dramatic actress is about to get more daring, curiosity was at its peak.
But surprises of surprises, the kind of daring Marian will be doing is zooming down on a harness, several feet above ground; interacting with snakes; taking on adventure after adventure.
She is the new host of the coming season of Extra Challenge, and will accompany celebrity participants on such dares as going lip to lip with creepy crawlies and slimy creatures; climbing towering heights; and enduring extreme physical activities.
“Siyempre pag umayaw yung celebrity contestant or hindi kinaya yung challenge, kami ang gagawa, para gawin din nila,” Marian excitedly chatted about her latest endeavor. In saying “kami,” she was referring to her co-host Richard Guttierez who was also one of her constant leading men in past teleseryes and movies.
While she looks fragile with her snow-white skin and delicate features, everyone knows that Marian is a fighter, and never backs down in word wars whenever she is embroiled in a controversy.
“Literal din akong matapang; makikita nyo yan sa show,” she laughed.
Marian added that she is honored to be part of Extra Challenge since it holds the distinction as the first Filipino produced reality program for TV.
The show first aired in 1999 and made a name for Paolo Bediones who is now a news anchor on TV5.
“First hosting project ko pa ito, at Extra Challenge pa kaya talaga namang excited ako. Magiging extra masaya ito, promise!” she ended.
The new season of Extra Challenge beings on October 27 on GMA Network.
