Gerald Anderson was sporting a tribal-inspired henna tattoo when he arrived to shoot his scenes for an upcoming movie of Star Magic. The said movie, which will be the 20th anniversary offering of Star Magic, has the working title, Crazy Love.

The movie marks the reunion of the popular Kimerald tandem last seen on the big screen for the 2010 movie Till My Heartaches End.

PEP.ph had an exclusive interview with Gerald last May 23, his first shooting day in a house in Fairview, Quezon City.

Is he nervous about working again with Kim?

“Excited! Kasi yung eksena na gagawin namin, nakaka-excite kasi sasayaw ako. Siyempre kinakabahan pero more of excited ako.”

What was his initial reaction when he learned that he would be working with Kim?

“Excited ako na makakasama ko siya…Makikita ko yung maturity niya, yung growth niya mula nung last project namin. Sana ganun rin siya para sa akin.

“I’m really excited na makatrabaho siya ulit.”

Does he think it will be awkward?

“Hindi naman siguro. Awkward in the sense na ngayon ulit kami magtatrabaho... Maghiwalay kami sa TV for more than a year na.”

Will they have sweet scenes together?

“Marami kasi dito sa movie na ito, ako talaga ang may gusto sa kanya. Parang na-love at first sight ako sa kanya.”

Will there be kissing scenes?

“Secret!” he exclaimed.

Is he ready to shoot a kissing scene with Kim?

“I’m always ready,” he said with a laugh. “Sana…tingnan natin.”

Gerald admitted that Kim will always be special to him. “Hindi siya mawawala sa care ko,” he said.

The actor added that he and Kim have managed to maintain their professional relationship even though they were given different love team partners in the past.

Gerald has worked with Sarah Geronimo in the movies Catch Me I’m in Love and Won’t Last a Day Without You. In the TV series Budoy, he was paired with Jessy Mendiola.

Meanwhile, Kim had three leading men in My Binondo Girl: Matteo Guidicelli, Jolo Revilla and Xian Lim, who is currently linked to the young actress.

“Yung working relationship nandun pa and sana yung chemistry nandun pa. I’m sure may magic pa. Si Kim naman dala-dala lang niya…lalabas naman yun.

“Yung professionalism, yung oras na magkasama kami sa set, yung respeto naman kay Direk [John-D Lazatin], gagawin namin ni Kim ang part namin,” said Gerald.

PREPARATIONS FOR HIS ROLE. Aside from Kim and Gerald, Crazy Love also features Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, Angelica Panganiban, Bea Alonzo, and other Star Magic talents.

In one scene, Gerald plays a macho dancer who comes between a mother (portrayed by Pokwang) and her daughter (played by Kim).

He described his role, “Isa akong macho dancer, isa akong call boy. Ako yung lalaki who comes in between them, nagkataon lang na isa akong macho dancer.”

How did he prepare for his role?

“Nag-immerse rin ako para dito. Pumasok ako sa isang gay bar, naka-sumbrero ako para hindi alam ng mga tao. Medyo madilim nung time na yun at pinanood ko yung mga sumasayaw sa stage. Para at least kahit papaano, may background ako.

“Great experience, but after this movie, hindi ko na uulitin yun,” he said with a laugh.

EL BRUJO WITH TIKOY AGUILUZ. Aside from working on Crazy Love, Gerald will star in his first indie film titled El Brujo. Directed by Tikoy Aguiluz, this action-drama film will also star Jake Cuenca.

“Action siya na may family drama and may drama between best friends,” said Gerald. “May love triangle rin.”

He added: “Meron kaming knife fighting, gun fighting, suntukan sa dagat…Ang dami naming injuries!”

This indie film was shot in various locations such as Subic, Olongapo, Antipolo and even Mount Pinatubo.
