Gerald, Kim separately vie for 'love team' award

During their love team's heydays, actor Gerald Anderson and actress Kim Chiu were consistently topping polls as their generation's most followed team-up.

Now, the two are at it again -- only this time, with new on-screen partners in tow.

After their much-publicized break up in 2010, which also spelled the end of their long-running love team, Chiu and Anderson were paired with new TV and film partners, to whom they are also linked in real life. 

The "Binondo Girl" has actor Xian Lim, while the "Budoy" star was paired with Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.

Their respective post-break-up team-ups have been widely embraced by their fans, and this is reflected in a popular online poll determining the year's most followed on-screen love team.

In the latest voting tally of the annual Yahoo! OMG Awards, "KimXi" (Kim and Xian) and "Ashrald" (Asher, Geronimo's second name, and Gerald) are the frontrunners for the "Love Team of the Year Award."

As of June 25, the "My Binondo Girl" pair has garnered 46% of the total votes cast in the category, while the "Catch Me I'm In Love" couple has accumulated 34%.

While Chiu and Anderson continue to do projects with Lim and Geronimo respectively, the former sweethearts are also set to reunite on the big screen via the 20th anniversary film offering of talent management firm Star Magic.
