The debut album of Kapamilya heartthrob Daniel Padilla has turned platinum.
Less than three months since it was released, Padilla's self-titled debut album has sold more than 20,000 copies, earning itself a platinum status.
The six-track album is "the fastest to turn platinum," according to Star Records audio content manager Jonathan Manalo.
Along with the top-rating series "Princess and I," his debut album's sales come as another achievement for the 17-year-old, who admitted to being shy in showing off his singing talent.
"Ako ang pinakamahiyaing taong makikilala niyo kung hindi ako nag-artista. I don't sing sa mga karaoke, kapag maraming tao umaalis lang ako. Minsan anti-social ako kasi mahiyain talaga ako," he told StarStudio magazine in its August 2012 issue.
Coupled with his success as an actor, Padilla's career in singing is his way of giving back to his family.
"Kapag nakikita ko na lahat ng trabaho ko nagpe-pay off sa mga magulang ko at nakikita ko na nakatulong naman ako, doon ako kumukuha ng inspirasyon," he said.
