Cristine Reyes said that her two leading men in the teleserye Dahil Sa Pag-Ibig, Piolo Pascual and Jericho Rosales, are opposites of each other. While Piolo is reserved, she said the Echo is the more hyper one.
“Si Echo super 100 percent kulit, as in. Para siyang battery, hindi siya nauubusan. Para siyang fully-charged palagi. Hyper ‘yon kahit ‘di naman work. Si Piolo hindi siya ‘yung malikot katulad ni Echo. Si Piolo ‘yung steady lang pero nakikipag-usap, nakikipagbiruan. Nakakakilig siya minsan, naiinis ako. ‘Yun lang.” It is her first time to work with Piolo, while she worked with Jericho before on the teleserye Kahit Isang Saglit (2008).
Cristine continued that she finally got to know Piolo as a person, whom she would run into sometimes on ASAP. When they are on the set of Dahil sa Pag-Ibig, the actress related that Piolo tries to initiate a conversation. “Minsan nagkukuwento siya about something. Minsan nagkukuwento siya kunwari tinatanong n’ya ako; ano raw balak ko after 10 years. Tapos siya rin nagkukuwento, gusto rin daw niya [mag-]settle down. Nakilala ko talaga siya rito.”
She also shared that she could not help but feel shy with Piolo’s nice gestures toward her. “Eh kasi alam mo ako gusto ko ng someone na parang Piolo; manly, andami mong matututunan sa kanya, and God-fearing. Parang feeling ko kung nakatrabaho ko siya noon pa, siya na siguro, ‘di ba? Parang nasa kanya na lahat.”
With Piolo’s gorgeous looks and impressive character, Cristine said that she sometimes wonders if the actor is for real. “Parang gusto ko siyang alugin [at sabihin], ‘totoo ka ba na tao?’ Pero siya hindi ko nasasabi sa kanya ito nang harap-harapan. ‘Pag andyan siya tahimik lang ako, ‘pag andyan siya as in ‘di ako makabasag-pinggan kasi nahihiya ako sa kanya eh. Nahihiya nga akong kausapin siya, ewan ko, parang there’s something about him na medyo nakikimi ako.”
Meanwhile, Cristine related that she and boyfriend Rayver Cruz are doing good. However, they are spending less time together these days because she is busy with taping for her current teleserye. “’Yun ‘yung mga bagay na kailangan nating isakripisyo para sa work,” she explained. Last Valentine’s Day, Rayver made the occasion more special when he visited Cristine on the set of Dahil sa Pag-Ibig.
